Salute to the Sun (framed)

This is one of a pair of paintings celebrating the hot-cool, sun-shade, yin-yang feel of mid-June in Southwest New Mexico, when the days become hotter and hotter, the clouds build up bigger and bigger, and finally the delectable smell of rain signals the arrival of another monsoon season. I was intrigued by the stark contrast of early morning sun warming the sand of a wash, while the canyon walls behind remained in deep cool shadow. The gesture of the mesquite tree on the right reminded me of a yoga posture, thus "Salute to the Sun."

Please Note:  The listed price of $625 is for a custom framed painting with anti-reflective, UV protection glass. The price unframed is $500.
